I am blessed knowing that you and I serve as valuable assets for society. God has chosen us, to serve as His police instructors, to prepare His future Guardians of Justice, to protect and serve His people. Remember we take an oath to God as law enforcers. Why? Is it tradition? No it’s a constitutional requirement that many take for granted. Our founding fathers placed the requirement in the U.S. Constitution, and Ohio followed suit by repeating the requirement as well. Neither document requires politicians to swear an oath to God just law enforcers and soldiers (I guess they didn’t want to ask for the impossible). They knew the power we would hold and how easily it could be abused by those without integrity.
There has been research conducted by the FBI (as well as others) into Spirituality and Law Enforcers. There is a benefit for cops who have Faith in their life and see themselves as serving a higher purpose and power. These articles and other resources are listed below and available in PDF formats.
